More information for the process

Just to give you an idea of what the process is like...
You start off doing all your research and feel overwhelmed tying to figure out where to start.  Then the fun begins.

The program that I am going through, Project 127, is ministry based so there is extra training involved, which is a good thing!  Start off with the 12 hours of training which is state mandated, 2 weeks later (which is this weekend) another 12 hours this time will be faith based training (I will write more about what that consisted of once I get through it and can process it).  2 weeks after that there is a 4 hour support training.  That is where everyone that is a part of my support system (those that are able to) comes together to learn about the process and what I am doing.

Along with the physical training there is a lot of paperwork to do: state application, questionaires, need to get a medical physical, do a CPR class, get fingerprints, additional required online class (1 that I know of for sure), along with all that there will be the home study which I am not 100% clear on all that but I know someone comes to my home to do an inspection to make sure it's safe and do interviews with me about who I am and my background.  Wow!  I think they should make everyone go through these classes...even simply to be a parent not just foster or adoptive parents.

More to follow after training this weekend.
