Things are getting real...

So in the past 10 days all the stuff that Bethany sent over to complete is complete.  There were a couple more forms that they required so I am working on those now.  One is a Child Care Plan, of which I have no clue where to start.  My schedule is such that I don't need a full time sitter, just a drop in from time to time.  So I will be on the hunt for that ASAP.  I was planning to get a Lifetime gym membership because I would get 2 hours of childcare a day but of course if I need a sitter for a few hours here and there, that is where I need to find someone that not only I trust, but that the state trusts as well. 

The other form is The House Rules, I laughed because I don't even have rules and that isn't something I even thought of!  So we brought out the notepad and got started on that.  When I say we..ok back up to the last post, remember when I said my heart had been opened?  Well there is a bit of a love story to share here..I have this guy who has been a friend for many many years, I think we figured 10 years.  He has been an amazing support, friend, etc the past 9 months, since the beginning of this journey.  While I was in Mexico, I had some massive clarity shine in my heart and that was that he is the man I have been waiting for God to bless me with.  I could go into a whole story about him and his love and kindness for me and this journey and his excitement for me/us to be a part of foster care, but for now I will leave you with that.  And now when I say we, I am referring to him and most likely his 2 amazing kiddos (I won't name them only because I haven't got their permission to do so yet).  Ok so anyways lol,  We worked on house rules. We sat around the dinner table and each played a part in creating the rules for the house, mostly the kids came up with these...

1.Treat others the way you want to be treated
2.say: "please, thank you and I love you"
3.always be kind to each other
4.always share with others
5.always tell the truth
6.pet the dogs and cat (lol this one is super cute)
7.keep each other accountible and remind each other of the rules
8.clean up after yourself
I am sure over time we will add to that.  I have no idea what rules need to be in place so this is a rough draft.

They said one of the 2 background checks came back (Of course all good, it's been a really long time since I got into any trouble and even that trouble isn't noteworthy lol) and once the FBI portion comes back, the gal will call me to schedule the home study, EEEEKKKKK!   The step that I have literally been waiting for months to get here is finally almost here!  I have no idea what to expect from that portion of the process but my emotions are getting so real and raw!  To think that this journey started so long ago and we are approaching the final stages to welcome someone into the house blows my mind!  I get so emotional and teary eyed thinking about it!!

Mothers Day

I can't believe how time flies!  So not a whole lot to update but wanted to at least start an update since it has been a while. Since the last post I had an AMAZING soul vacation to Mexico, my annual retreat.  It makes my heart and soul so happy to escape life here in the city and retreat with amazing women.  We get a chance to be quiet and connect.  While there I had time to reflect on my life and what I want and although this isn't a blog about me and my future, being a foster Mom has really helped push me to see what it is that my soul wants.  I am longing for deep connections and a lot slower paced life.  In time that will happen.. The real deal!

To say that this week has been interesting would be an understatement.  The emotions that I personally felt, were not emotions that I even anticipated having.  Every time I looked in the mirror this last weekend, I would cry.  Cry for a few reasons..For the little girl in my care, her hurts, wounds, unknown thoughts, etc,  for the 38 year old woman who has never had a child in her care for more than 8 hours (well aside from the teenager years ago, but that is a different situation, kinda) and had no clue how to give up her alone time and share it with a child that needs attention.  Ack!  I went into this knowing that is what she would need, right!?  Of course.
